Hi,

I am not sure if this is an Excel Question or Access Question, maybe neither.

I have code in vba that extract data from accdb file using adodb connection. For some reason when i take this code to another computer where it doesn't have access installed, it got a system error &h00400etc. Has anyone experienced the same thing anywhere? we're trying to use access for BE and Excel for FE.

thanks,

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.

Where does the Access DB live and does the user that you are having issues with have permissions to that location?

The file live on a shared drive that we all have access to. If it's security issue, we'd likely be having people accessing stuff they're not supposed to as oppose to not having access.

Does your question imply that regardless if the computer has the ability to read the access file, meaning having a copy installed, the vba code should allow the user to extract the data out of the accdb?
