This is regarding to the message at

I get a “Reference is not valid” error message when I enter the data for the Criteria Range:

(=OR(LEN(C2)=0,LEN(D2)=0,LEN(E2)=0)

The criteria range contains the formula...

=COUNTBLANK(C2:E2)>0

which is a shorter version of the OR formula Eli suggested. They work the same.

Use my suggestion or read the Excel Help topic that I listed to better understand Conditions created as the result of a formula.
