Advanced Filter Criteria

Hi there folks,

I am setting up an Advanced Filter and was looking for some help. I know that entering *Result* in the Criteria Range would filter anything containing the word Result however how do I filter on something that DOES NOT contain a certain word? I have tried <>*Result* however this doesn't seem to work. Has anyone got any ideas?

Do you need to be using advanced filter? If you use an auto filter, you can specify “Does not equal” and enter a value.

I believe you meant "Does not contain" since Andy used the asterisks.

Yes, I meant "Boes Not Contain" that was an error on my part, should read my posts before submitting them! Ooops!

I should also have been a bit more specfic, the data I need to filter out (does not contain) are any cells with the text values, CTF GCB, GEB etc in them. A normal auto filter doesn't cut it as it only has two options, this will need to contain at least ten.

In that case use a formula, like:

=AND(ISERROR(FIND({"CTF","GCB","GEB"},A2)))
