Im stumped,

I have a list with the labels in the first row. I would like to display certain rows, and later i would like to copy them to somewhere else. I presume i can use the Advanced filter, but i cant work it? I can display the rows i want with the auto filter.

Ive read the help file and i cant see where im going wrong.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

hi,
what i understood is, you can choose your desired rows with auto filter but you cant copy and paste them to another place (sheet, workbook).

if so, excel has a button but is hidden!!!

right click on the menu bar, select customize, then commands, then "edit toolbar", then scroll down till you see the button "select visible cells". simply drag and drop the button to the menu bar.

is this the answer?

Nope, but thanks anyway.

Ive figured it out like this. With advanced filtering, your criteria range can only contain rows with values. If there are rows with no values then the copy method returns the whole list.

It seems obvious, but i manage to find a way of making things confusing.

so why dont you simply delete the empty rows? (or sort the data)?
