Advanced Filtering

Hello,

I have a table of data and from there I want to filter the unique values and copy them into another worksheet. However, I need to only include the data which is not in another table, held in another worksheet.

I've been told that I need to use advance filtering - but am unanable to make this work.

Can someone please advise as to how to make it work?

We'd need more information. Specifically, how do you (or shoudl the filter) determine what data is not in another table?

The formula in D2 is:

=COUNTIF(Sheet2!A:A,Name)=0

It's important that the criteria range (D1: D2) has no heading.

The first table has a list of names and date when they did a shift.

The second table has a list of names only.

What I will need is to produce a list with the unique names from table 1, which do not appear in table 2.

I'm not sure what you mean when you ask 'how do you (or shoudl the filter) determine what data is not in another table?'.

For me, it's not that important how, so long as it does it and is relatively quick at doing it.

You actually just answered that part. Andrew's method should work for you (assuming the list of names is in Sheet2 column A - adjust as needed).

Hi Andrew,

I've just looked at what you've said, but i'm sorry I don't understand.

I should let you know that I do not know how to use advance filtering.

There are to be 3 sheets altogether.

Sheet1 will be where all the data is
Sheet2 will be the 'exclusion list'
Sheet3 will be where the unique values should be from sheet1, which excludes the names from sheet2.

In the example I posted A1:B4 was the List range, D1:D2 was the Criteria range and D4:E4 was the Copy to range.
