Thank you JimM for posting this question. I had a similar problem but now I'm stuck on the second step.
Once we find the mode value for each product line, how can I get a count of how many times the mode appears within each given Product?
I'll continue to use Jim's example.
This is what I want to get:
<TABLE style="WIDTH: 171pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=228 border=0><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" span=2 width=64><COL style="WIDTH: 75pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3657" width=100><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD class=xl65 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 15pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64 height=20>

I was heading in the direction of an IF formula but got stuck.
(The brackets are what I would like the formula to do.)
I was going to try =IF(A2=A1,[COUNT B2])
This won't work because I need to link the Product and Mode together before I can get a count.
My ultimate goal is to figure out how consistent the mode value is within each product line. For example the mode is 50% consistent for Product 1 and 66% consistent for Product 2.
Any suggestions?
