hi all,
I'm trying to create a large excel model and would like to use vlookup to bring in formula's from a seperate table/tab. can this be done?

ie,
tab 1 has data in cell a1, b1 and c1 (where a1 defines the situation and b1 and c1 contain the data for each)
tab 2 has a listing of formulas for given situations

Goal: based on tab1-cell a1, i'd like it to reference tab 2 and pull the appropriate formula, then apply that formula to the cells in tab 1

not sure if this makes sense or if more detail would help?

thanks for any and all advice,

Sean

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)

As far as I know, you can't have a formula grab another formula. There may be a formula solution to your problem that will surface if you provide additional detail - or you may end up using a macro to stick the right formulas where they go.
