Anybody know where I can find GOOD info on shapes? Properties and methods and How to use them?

It's always a guessing game with shapes for me...there's no Auto list members for shapes in VBA... :devilish:

I'm trying to learn how to manipulate shapes dynamically [without selecting them] like adding/changing text...and many other things. This applies to various Shape types as well (don't know all of them, but every new shape type I encounter is a whole new ball game :( )

TIA

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
I have done a lot of work with shapes over the last few months, and agree that the available information is very scarce. I have found no source that has been of much use. As with your experience it seems that each project is a whole new ball game. Under the surface it is a huge subject.

I suggest you start your project and come back on specific issues.

My best source has been the Object Browser in the VB Editor and the F1 key- but some information does seem to be well buried. Must be in VBA Help somewhere (?). Need To persevere.

Keep going back to ShapeRange.

These 2 mesages contain some of my code.

Good stuff, thanks BrianB!

What drove me to make this thread is resolved (Adding text to a specific type of shape). But I was just curious to find info to learn more

I'll be taking a look at what you gave me when I get home.
Again thanks! Learning by example is better than not learning at all!
