All entries with a date for today and last 7 days

Hello,
I have a column which I enter the day the row was entered onto the sheet.
i need to quickly count them and show a running weekly total of the amount of entries.
Any help please?

Something like...

=COUNTIF(DateRange,TODAY())

=COUNTIF(DateRange,">"&TODAY()-7)
