Hi
I want to protect a user input sheet but provide the user with a "guide" ie insert a shape that is a line, so that they can move the guide up and down to the row of data that they want to view or amend. What is the VBA to allow the shape to be moved?

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop

If you are protecting the sheet with vba then try including the red text below in your protection code

Rich (BB code):
... .Protect DrawingObjects:=False

Another option might be instead of having to physically move a line all the time to set the sheet up so that the row with the active cell always gets highlighted.
If that interests you, try adopting the row part of this.

You would follow steps 1 to 6 of the linked post (post #4 in that thread), but omit step 3. If you get stuck on a particular step post back here with what step it is and what difficulty you are having.

Sorry, forgot to add that you would need to do the steps while the worksheet is unprotected, and then protect it again.
