in cell a1 i have 4 digits

im trying to come up with a formula to show if each digit is low, DISPLAY AS "L"
AND HIGH DISPLAY AS "H"

CELL B1 = ANSWER "LHHH"


also EVEN ODD

ANSWER CELL C1 =ANSWER "EEEO"

Don't know what your definition of low and high are, but here's the second request:

=IF(ISODD(LEFT(K12,1)),"O","E")&IF(ISODD(MID(K12,2,1)),"O","E")&IF(ISODD(MID(K12,3,1)),"O","E")&IF(ISODD(RIGHT(K12,1)),"O","E")
where K12 contains the number to be evaluated

low numbers are <=4

high >5

hence "LHHH"
