Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a way to get the database window back after locking it out on the 'Startup' screen?

I unchecked the "Use Access Special Keys" option and couldn't get it back. Luckily I had made a copy so no harm done, but I would like to restrict this function in the database for when I roll it out... BUT I do want to be able to get it back without too much of a problem.

I have decided to not use the built in security, so I need another method. Is there a VBA option that I could use to show the window?

Many thanks.

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Try holding down the shift key and the enter key simoultaneously to open the data base.

Re: F11 Secure Window

Apologies as this should not have been ALT+F11, but rather F11 only.

Thanks Alan, but I cant get this to work.

On the "Startup" dialog box, I have deselected the following boxes:
"Display Database Window"
"Use Access Special Keys"

But when I go to "Window" at the top, I can unhide the database window.

I have also tried deselecting the following, (as well as the two at the top):
"Allow Full Menus"
"Allow Default Shortcut Menus"
"Allow Built-in Toolbars"
"Allow Toolbar/Menu Changes"

But when I do this, exit the database and then open it again, no matter what I do, I cannot get the database window open again. :(
