I have two cells that have dates in

A1 01/10/2021
B1 01/11/2021

Cell J1 looks at B1 and asks if its < A1 if its not then its should say YES if its not is shows NO i also want the query to ignore a blank cell does anyone know the query required

I have tried this which works but doesnt change to no if the date is priror to

=IF( A1<B1, "NO", "YES" )

and this

=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("*",B1)*(A1>B1)),"YES", "NO")

But that does the same it shows as Yes regardless of the date entered in to B1

Hi & welcome to MrExcel.
How about
Excel Formula:
=IF(OR(A1="",B1=""),"",IF(A1<B1,"NO","YES"))
Also make sure that both dates are real dates & not text.
