I have been building a query that is based off of these two threads:

Aligning manually entered data with external data (query)
Database query possibilities

I have two queries that runs on an open order report:
  1. Pulls the order number and the manually entered comment relating to that order into a table (Preserve_Comments) on a hidden worksheet
  2. Updates the SQL data from ODBC and populates the order number and other data columns (SQL_Open_Order_Pull)
I am having difficulties figuring out how to link the preserved comments back into the SQL data table. If this were just a worksheet, I would use an index, match formula. I tried a Merge query, but it creates another worksheet. I believe I need to add another do some kind of join, but I'm not sure on the syntax or how to reference both sources in the query and get it to re-populate the comments column.

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Thanks so much,
Jordan
