Hi guys, I am a complete newbie and want to create a macro (I think!)

Basically I want a button in my spreadsheet that when you click it, it adds 1 to a specific cell, which may already have a value in it. Where do I start??

Many thanks
Richard

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Add a button from the controls toolbar (ActiveX control). Right click it, select View Code and replace what is in the window with

Rich (BB code):
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Range("A1").Value = Range("A1").Value + 1
End Sub

Change A1 to suit then ALT + Q to close the code window. Exit Design Mode.

The only problem I have now is I get this message when trying to save...

"The following features cannot be saved in macro-free workbooks:

VB projects

To save a file with these features, Click no, and choose a macro enabled file type in the file type list.

To continue saving as a macro free workbook click yes."

What do I do now?

Thanks

Go to File > Save As and in File Type select Macro enabled workbook (*.xlsm).
