Its been covered to death here how to make seperate files merge into a single sheet, and thats just aces, only, thats not what I need to do

Ive got several hundred 'csv (comma seperated)' seperated files that I need to merge into files, _but_ I want to put each file on a seperate sheet in the same file.

urgh, that wasnt clear.

I need to do this;

(lots and lots of sequential files) -> (single file, lots of sheets)

Ive rummaged through the forums and excels own help files, but I dont see a way to do it other than opening each file in turn, and copy and pasting the data to new sheets, one by one. as ive got around 800 files to do, (and thats just this batch) this is driving me up the wall.

is there a way to automate the process? If so, how?

Internet cookies and love for any help recieved.

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
a bit technical for me, to be honest. all I know is Ive got *100 excel-recognised files, all with a fairly simple data output table in, and ive got to stick em in one file, with multiple sheets.

if I had half a brain I would have learned shell scripting or Perl or something and this would do itself, but... im not so clever. I just thought I'd ask here in case theres some easy, breezy "oh, just use the Importdata / files option" kind of answer. it seems such a simple and common task that I must be missing something really obvious, you know?:(
