hi

i need to save weekly data over the course of a year, there are at least 3 spreadsheets each week, they contain just data on sales, stock etc.

the main problem i have is i need to file them, so they can be accessed by other workbooks and also each week the data needs to be consolidated into tables and graphs

i have 2 ideas at the moment,

1.) there is 1 file which contains the current weeks data, this file name is always the same,, then the following week the data is transfered to a new workbook with the end of week date as the file name

2.) my other idea is to pre set all the links by creating 52 files for each week and then linking them to one workbook,
this will be more time consuming and will have to be done each year

does anyone one have any better ideas?
thanks

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Do you want to use your weekly form as a template and perhaps add some code to transfer your totals to another sheet or book using a button to perform this operation ? I have code to do this for my Invoice forms and you could adapt it. You will have to address the problem of ensuring data is saved after entry. You would also need a macro to clear the sheet after transferring the data
Forgot to mention that you could take a look at the Template Wizard

the data is already created, it just needs to be accessed by other workbooks, which analyse the data
