Hi All,

I have two coluns colA & ColB. Col A has numeric values in a random order such as:

Col A
4.2
3.1
5.2

Now i want to write a vba macro which assigns a alphabet to each value in column b (going from max to min). I want to acheive as follows:

Col A ColB
4.2 B
3.1 C
5.2 A

All help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.

Hi,

This will work upto 256 numbers.

=SUBSTITUTE(ADDRESS(1,RANK(A1,$A$1:$A$3)+COUNTIF($A$1:A1,A1)-1,4),1,"")
