Hello!

I am not very proficient with excel, and im not even sure if this is possible.

I am managing a training session using excel.
The file as 3 spreadsheets, the first and second spreadsheets have the list of people coming to the first and second classes (around 16 people per class). There are also other details such as employee number.

The third spreadsheet is the master list. The master list has a database of 1000 potential students.

What I would like to know is if its possible to link the information on the first two spreadsheets to the masterlist, so that everytime that a employee signs up on of the classes (first and second spreadsheet), he appears as someone who has sign up on the masterlist (third spreadsheet).

I tried to use condional formating to highlight the color of those participants already signed in. But the correspondence between employee numbers among the spreedsheet is not correct.
I think the best way would be to link the employee number, but I really do not know.

Please Help. And thank you.
Best regards

Not very proficient. Wouldnt know what to do.

are you saying you don't know what vlookup is? I am sorry to say if you don't know vlookup then excel is not for you. you can do a little research online on it (check youtube videos) as it is very difficult to explain it here.

VLOOKUPs are fairly straightforward, if you follow the instructions.

Have a look here for a tutorial

Here also is a simple example of VLOOKUP taken from The Excel Function Bible
