Hi,

This is probably the most simple question asked today, but I cannot work out how to do it.

I am building a spreadsheet which will have a number of formulas and conditional formatting. This workbook will be populated daily with around 100 rows of data.

When I make a formula, I drag from bottom right hand corner, but it is random where I stop. Is there a way to copy the formula or conditional formatting down a column to say like row 10,000 without the need to manually drag them?

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
A few things that come to mind. Filling down to row 10000 is not practical, unless you actually have that much data you will be wasting system resources on volatile functionality (increased delay waiting for excel to calculate whenever you change something).

Go to File > Options > Advanced and checking the box to 'Extend data range formats and formulas'

Format your data as a table.

Double click the fill handle to autofill parallel to the data in the adjacent column instead of dragging.
