Hi All,

I am having a issue with using Auto Filter and making charts. When I create the charts from my data set and then set a Auto Filter on it, whenever I filter the dataset my charts get mixed up as the Data Source is set for a fixed cell range. How can I create my charts so that the Auto Filter will not mix them up when I sort my results?

Thanks for any and all help.

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Errrm, charts automatically adjust to what you are filtering. So, you actually want to turn this feature off then?

Thx GlennUK for the help. I figured it out, you need to place a empty row between each of the seperate data sets, then set the Auto Filter over the all the Data Sets. For example:

Auto Filter Range
Sales Business Unit 1 Year 1 Year 2 Year 3
Sales Business Unit 2 Year 1 Year 2 Year 3
Sales Business Unit 3 Year 1 Year 2 Year 3
'Empty Row'
COGS Business Unit 1 Year 1 Year 2 Year 3
COGS Business Unit 2 Year 1 Year 2 Year 3
COGS Business Unit 3 Year 1 Year 2 Year 3
'Empty Row'

Where the qoute above represents the Highlighting you do before placing the autofilter. In all other cases the Auto Filter would see one data set without the rows.
