Have a spreadsheet and when a completion date goes in a cell I want the entire row of cells to change from the white background to a green background. Tried with conditional formatting but was only able to change the single cell not the whole row. Any ideas, thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
Welcome to the Board!

If you highlight the entire row, you can use something like this in Conditional Formatting-->Formula Is-->=$A1<>"".

Just adjust the range & criteria to suit.

Hope that helps,

Similar Question - Highlighting a Row

I have a similar question. I would like to highlight a whole row based upon the value of a column. For example, if I have a column with 6 values, for example 30, 35, 40, 60, 60, 75, I would like the rows with the value of 60 to be highlighted/formatted grey.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

No problem.

Highlight your range of rows and goto Format-->Conditional Formatting-->Formula is-->=$A1=60-->Format as desired. Where $A is the target column.
