In C1, I'd like to have the following appear:

Balance due as of 10/28/2005

Where the date changes to the current date automatically.

I put "Balance due as of " in Z1 and =today() in Z2 and =z1&Z2 in C1. I get "Balance due as of 38658".

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
How about all in one cell:

="Balance due as of: "&TEXT(NOW(),"mm/dd/yyyy")
