Auto number A1 in 250 sheets

I am attempting to auto number B2 in 250 worksheets (incrementally).

I have searched the site and found this link which I thought would do the job.

The workbook is open with 250 sheets, I have pasted the code into a module and when I run the macro I receive compile error : syntax error

Any help appreciated

maybe because you pasted with the * included? Those have to be removed

Sub InvoiceNumber()
Dim InvNo As Long
Dim ws As Worksheet

InvNo = 1200
For Each ws In ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets
    ws.Range("B2").Value = InvNo
    InvNo = InvNo + 1
Next ws
End Sub
