Auto populate

How would I auto populate specific cells in a row with information in another spreadsheed?

I want my employees to be able to input a number in cell in the begining of a row in spreadsheet a and if that # matches the one in the other spreadsheet it would automatically populate other cells in that row with some of the info in the cells in spreadsheet b.

Spreadsheet b has over 1500 rows so this would start out large and continue to grow.

The helpfile documents it pretty well.
