Hello All,

Is there any way to auto fill the cell reference within a function?

I have a spreadsheet where functions are linked to each other and a function needs to be pasted into different places within a sheet, over 200 instances.

Example.

=A1+A2

Is there a character I could place instead of A2 which will change to the cell reference where the function is pasted to?

Thanks

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
I cant attach the file on this forum yet but here is a summary.

I can only change functions not the document contents. I had to minimise the keystrokes and amount of navigation needed to fill in the tables.

1. The original document given has a series of rows with quesions with a ABC box selection

EDCBA
QuestionX

<tbody>
</tbody>

2. when a selection is made a summary is filled below with a countif function.

EDCBA
21110
0255075100
02550750
30% Achievement

<tbody>
</tbody>

I have added a table which uses data validation drop boxes with A-E list selection, which in turn add the X in point 1 using =IF($E$124="E","X","")

1.1E
1.2B
1.3C
1.4D
1.5E

<colgroup><col><col span="2"></colgroup><tbody>
</tbody>

Filling each and every one of these boxes with the =IF is time consuming is there another way to do this only using functions or a shortcut as there are 40 questions and 5 selections for each you can imagine how long this would take.

Any ideas on a easier way?
