Hello everyone! Will appreciate some help in automating the retrieval the correct value from the table below because a huge data set is involved.

This is a sub-set of the table:
Age Range/
Scaled Score
16 months - 25 months26 months - 1 year 5 months
100
211
322
433-5
54-96-10
610-1511-12

The values in the table are the total scores of assessment X.

For instance, the scaled score for a child who is within the age range of 26 months - 1 year 5 months and a total score of 9 on assessment X should have a scaled score of 5.

I have the age range of each child, as well as the total score on assessment X. I need to use these 2 information to generate the scaled score. I've tried various ways, such as using index function, match function, vlookup, all to no avail. ):

Will appreciate any help here! Thank you in advance!

Hi Dear,

I still confused about what is the required output and how the data set is structured.

correct my understanding please, in your example you are referring to the following:

Range/
Scaled Score
16 months - 25 months26 months - 1 year 5 months
54-96-10

So, which column is the input and which is the output .. and from which data set you are looking up the value (if any)

It would be easier to share your working sample using XL2BB

Regards
