I have a powerpoint presentation that runs on a loop and I have links inside this powerpoint that auto update when the slide hits 2. The problem is that if someone is editing the data in the excel sheet and the powerpoint is running on its loop the presentation errrors out. I would like the code to check if the excel sheet is open and if so then do nothing but if it is not then update links and save. Here is the code I have to auto update the links and below that is what I tried which failed.... Any help would be great.

HTML:
Sub OnSlideShowPageChange(ByVal SSW As SlideShowWindow)
Application.DisplayAlerts = False

On Error Resume Next
' AUTO UPDATE OF OLE LINKS MACRO

    If SSW.View.CurrentShowPosition = 2 Then
    ActivePresentation.UpdateLinks
End If

Application.ActivePresentation.Save

End Sub

HTML:
Sub OnSlideShowPageChange(ByVal SSW As SlideShowWindow)
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
On Error Resume Next
' AUTO UPDATE OF OLE LINKS MACRO
    If SSW.View.CurrentShowPosition = 2 Then
    ActivePresentation.UpdateLinks
  If ActiveWorkbook.ReadOnly Then
    ActiveWorkbook.Close
Else
ActivePresentation.UpdateLinks
Application.ActivePresentation.Save
End If
End Sub

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
