Every now and then, My workbook won't auto update so I'm stuck going to every effected cell double clicking it and pressing enter. Just wondering if this can be corrected or if its another one of Microsofts bugs.
Thanks

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Are you talking about formulas or links?

Make sure that the Autocalc feature is turned on (Tools | Options | Calculation | Automatic).

Sometimes when you're low on memory, Excel reverts to manual recalc (I think it still does this - maybe someone else can verify). If this happens intermittently, consider closing down other apps. You can tell if you are getting into manual recalc mode if you see the word Calculate appearing down in the Status bar.

Formulas, and if the Autocalc feature is defaulted on then I've never touched it. Just to explain it quickly : I have a monthly spread of hours in columns 2-7 with a sum of them in column 1, when I change a spread in say column 3, 1 should update to reflect the hours but it stays static until I double click the cell and hit enter.
Thanks

Regardless of whether or not you have ever touched the autocalc feature, could you verify that it is set to Automatic, like I said above?

Calculate did appear.. and when I checked Autocalc is was on manual.. Switched it back to Automatic and it fixed everything. Thanks guys. Is there any way to always keep it on Automatic?

Changing it there is changing your default, so it should always keep it on Automatic now, unless you manually change it back.

Way to go JMiskey :beerchug: - do you happen to know if Excel still does automatically revert to manual when memory gets low? I seem to remember that happening in some stone age spreadsheets.
