Using data validation I created a drop down list using account #s with the following account format XXXX-XXX-XXX-XXXX. Since the list contains three thousand accounts I would like for the range in the list to pop up as soon as the person starts entering. For example if I eneterd 52 all of the 52XX-XXX-XXX-XXXX accounts would come up from the list for selection. I tried to implment the work around where I create the list above the data validation cell and hide the rows where the list is contained but this did not work. I thank you advance for your help!!

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Thank you so much but unfortunately I tried this before posting on this site and it did not work. I am wondering if it did not work because I am using account codes rather than text. Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks!
