First, let me say this. I am a novice with Excel. I'm not sure about how to phrase the question, but here goes. I have a worksheet with formulas in each cell, starting in E2:CX6000. Whenever I insert new data in cells A2:D6000. The recalculation process begins and takes a couple of hours to finish. Is there a way to speed this process up? I know Excel can only handle so much without bogging down. Thanks for all suggestions.

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
If you dont need to recalculate after each data entry change the calculation to manual.

For more info and if this helps, start here. Follow up w/ more questions on how to change if needed.

As far as the number of formulas and speeding it up.... get a faster computer w/ more memory. This is not a "cute" answer. Just a practical one.

Try splitting your workbook up into individual process and then copy the data to a master file once the calculations are complete. This can be done w/ various lookup functions/methods.

We can help you with all this.
