autofilter vba

okay I need to make a code to see if the auto filter is is turned on. and if it is to turn it off... is that possible. and if so can some one help me with it cause I have no clue. I did a record of turning it on and off.... and both times it told me selection.autofilter.

Try

ActiveSheet.AutoFilterMode = False

(don't need to test if it's already on or off, that code won't error if it's already off)
