How can a cell be automatically formatted (using Format Cells not Conditional Formatting) where if its content number does not equal another cell number (in the same row) it displays the input (entered) number with an asterisk at the end of the number ($#,##0.00"*")?

D7 is 34 and in F7, 34 is entered so the display is 34

If

D7 is 34 and in F7, 40 is entered so the NEW entered number is displayed is 40*

Assuming that F7 is manually entered, you would need to use conditional formatting for that, or a macro.

Got it. I just did not go far enough to looking at the number tab. Thanks for the push.
