Hi,

Is there a way to automatically change the value of all cells in a workbook (or with all open workbooks) with a default value "Date" with a date I want (not necesarily the current date). Please help. Thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Welcome to the board!

Just to check, do you really want to change EVERY cell in the workbook to this date value?

Do you want to change the same cell on each sheet of your workbook to an identical value?

Hi There

This sounds like a job for find and replace.

Press Ctrl+H to get it running

In the find box put Date
In the replace box enter the date in question

Then Find All (Check to see if there are any you don't want replaced)
Then Replace All

No sir, the location of the cell with the word "Date" on it is different in every worksheet on a workbook.

Thats what I've been doing Replace. but is there a way to automatically do it, where i'll enter the date I want once and all the cells with a word "Date" on it automatically change. I have around 30 workbooks to change everyday. Thanks
