Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
If it's windows, the easiest is to use windows scheduler available through the control panel. At work I have a couple excel files scheduled to open in the middle of the night. They run macros in from the Workbook_Open event, print reports and close. You could use the Ontime method, but a workbook would need to be open to use it.

Regards

Steve
