hi all, i would like a cell to automatically return a month from another cell containing a date

e.g

1 cell 11/5/2005 the cell then returning text MAY and no other data e.g 11 or 2005 as other cells are counting this particular data with other cells so a format cell option would be no good

any ideas ?

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
For us folks in the U.S., 11/5/2005 is November.

In the UK, it would be May.

Or is it smart enough to know where you are? I can't remember if, during registration, it asks what country do you live in...
