I am clearly doing something wrong, its so simple but for some reason it wont work lol

I have three columns

Time to site in hours

Minimum Maximum Average

1 2 =AVERAGE(B6:C6)
2 3 =AVERAGE(B7:C7)

But when I press the enter key it does not calculate it, it stil shows the formula, what on earth am I doing wrong?

I expect Average 1 to be 1.5hrs and Average 2 to be 2.5hrs

Argh!

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.

When you go to the formulas tab, is the "Show Formulas" highlighted? Also is your Calculation options set to Automatic?

Check the formatting of the formula cells. Maybe they are in text format. Change the format to general and reenter the formulas.

When I do that I get #DIV/0!

My guess is that the numbers in the minimum and maximum columns are text values as well. To test this, change those columns to general and reenter the values.
