Hi

I have a list that contains numbers and some text values. I want to calculate average of the numbers in the list (leaving text out ofcourse). I've been trying many things like SUMIF()/COUNTIF(); but I can't make it work.

I am using Excel 2003

Thanks
Rajesh

Hello Rajesh,

A regular AVERAGE function will ignore text values in a range so you should be able to use a formula like

=AVERAGE(A1:A10)
