Average of columns E and F

I want to take the amounts on columns E and F and tabulate the average and put that average number in column G
My data starts in E2 and F2 and is listed verticaly

Do you want the average of every value in both columns in one cell in column G? THat would be =AVERAGE(E:F)
Do you want the average of cell E2 and F2 pasted down each row in G? That would be = AVERAGE(E2:F2)

I'm guessing there's something more to this, though...?
