Who is Mr Spreadsheet?
Author John Walkenbach was Mr Spreadsheet until his retirement in June 2019.
Two ways:
Excel Formula:
=AVERAGEIF(A1:A5,">0")
or
Excel Formula:
=SUM(A1:A5)/COUNTIF(A1:A5,">0")

The AVERAGEIF function was added with Excel 2010.
