Hello enlightened ones

In column FJ I've got the formula=

IFERROR(AVERAGE(AF3:FH3),"")

But I'm having trouble because some of the cells covered by that formula contain text values. I need to keep the text values in those cells.

Unfortunately that formula includes those cells with text values as part of the average thereby screwing over the total. I've tried the averageif function but it's still not working out right.

If someone could help it would be appreciated.

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
can you step over them like =SUM(AF3,AH3,AJ3,AL3,AN3)/4

OR

if you have 2010 onwards

=AGGREGATE(1,3,AF3:AL4)
