Hello all,

I would really appreciate it if someone can help me to get a list of dates to appear as axis labels on a chart. I have uploaded the file here, as I don't think images will help much. But I will post the images anyway, just to explain what the issue is.

So, the first worksheet has dates and weights entered manually each week for one year. The 2nd worksheet contains a chart for ='Weight Record'!$E$4:$E$55. The vertical axis shows kilos - no problem there. But I would like the dates shown along the horizontal axis. Instead it just shows dates starting from 01/01/00 in increments of 1. I would like the values from C4:C55 to appear there. I have tried setting the chart data range to ='Weight Record'!$C$4:$E$55. I have also tried setting the range for the axis labels manually. Well, I've been trying everything I can think of for weeks, and cannot seem to get the dates there. Is it possibly a formatting setting?

Thanks for any help!

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
When I used your data to graph, I got date.

It may be caused as there is an empty column that your chart is using for Category axis.

Check if your chart Select Date Source dialogue box looks like this.

Solution
Thank you so much!! Not highlighting both ranges separately was the main issue. After that, a lot of reformatting is needed, due to all the custom changes I have made in trying to get it to display correctly. I think I will start from scratch using your method.

Thanks again! (y):)
