Is there a way to insert a background image but not have it repeat? I want to insert a single instance of an image in a sheet but have it so you can type over it. Is that possible?

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Hi Mick,

I don't want the image to repeat itself over and over. I just want it to show up once. Is there any way to do that? I'm using Excel 2003.

Worst case scenario I could try increasing the size of the image and make the extra space transparent or white to blend in, but I'm looking for simpler solution.

I should mention I tried recording a macro but there is nothing recorded that would allow me to disable the "repeat" of the image.

ActiveSheet.SetBackgroundPicture Filename:= _
"C:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Desktop\bkground.bmp"

Thanks - Kevin

Hi, I don't know how to ensure there is only one copy , but if the image is too small to cover the sheet, you could edit the picture size with "Microsoft Editer" or similar, Save the altered image and then use that,
Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Regards Mick
