Bar chart question in Microsoft starter 2010

I am making a 3D bar chart and when I select the data to be displayed on the horizontal axis (in a date value 03/29/2011 example), the chart displays the values in intervals of 3 months. How do I get this to show the correct data?

I am using Microsoft Excel Starter 2010.
