Hi,
I'm attempting to graph 4 series of data. Two should use the primary y-axis and two should use the secondary y-axis. Whenever I try to do this, the second two bar graphs get graphed on top of/stacked on the first two instead of to the right of them. Is there a way to get around this? Much thanks.

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
Add two additional dummy series to both axis' groups of series. For Y2 you might need to use the series formula to adjust the final argument to make the dummies series #1 & #2.

j3x,

[response based on question asked in PM]

If you want both [Y1-series & Y2-series] to be bars or columns, then yes, you'll need to utilize some dummy series to fix the "one in front of the other" problem.

That said, typically when you have a double-y-axis chart you mix types. To do that click on the series that are being mapped to either the 1st or 2nd Y axis and then right-click and from the popup pick Chart Type and change it to a line or something. This keeps the data points lined up nicely vis-a-vis the category (X) axis while fixing the old "peek-a-boo" problem.
