So I have to create a bar graph like this

image001.gif

instead of the graph showing the number of the students along the left it is showing the grades like 92.8, 88 etc and along the bottom instead of it being a category for A, B, C, D, F its just showing the students grade like A,B,B,A.. How can I get it to show the number of students on the Y axis and letter grades on the X axis?

Thank you

Excel Facts

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
Welcome to the board!

Select the chart, Chart|Source Data and click on the Series tab. Now click on the small Excel sheet symbol at the right end of Values and select the correct range (You must have this data in the sheet in order to display it on the chart). Click on the symbol again (or Enter) and do the same for Category (X) axis labels.

That should do it.

Hope This Helps

Hi

If I understand your problem you want to show the number of students who are A, B, C etc rather than the grades.

If you layout your sheet like this:

With the Grades along the top in sequence and the number of students who fall into that grade below then you will end up with what I think it is you want.
