I have 1 large database in excell that I am importing into access 2010, If I wanna make a query and find out a specific thing in the database should I break up my database or can I just make a query from the single database, if so what would be the easiest way of doing this?, also if I did need multiple databases would I need to duplicate some columns for primary keys?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
It's hard to speak so generally but a typical database will comprise several tables (from a handful to dozens). The keys in your tables are sometimes "primary keys" and sometimes "foreign keys". Database theory is a long subject and I'd recommend some structured study of it - the best general intro I know is the book Database Design for Mere Mortals.

Most Excel databases are not structured very well in terms of what you would do if you were an Access developer. So probably the "excel database" will need to be turned into one or more tables in an "access database".
