Basic info on User forms

I use excel at work but have never really ventured into VBA apart from using macros. I have no knowledge of user forms whatsoever. Are they similar to forms i have designed in Access and pure VB (only basic level).

Can anyone suggest a good source (e.g. a website) of basic info about userforms as there is little point asking questions here since i cannot be specific as i don't even know what they can achieve for me.
