Thanks in advance!

I'd like to:

select cell A1 on "sheet1" with the mouse

run a macro that will paste the contents into cell B1 on "sheet1"

and then flip over to "sheetX" and stop.

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Try this:
Code:
Option Explicit

Sub foo()
With ActiveCell
.Copy ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1)
End With
Sheets("SheetX").Range("A1").Select 'ChangeX to the appropriate Sheet
End Sub
