I am understanding many new functions and can get them to work on an individual basis. I feel able to follow to some degree the nested formulas but always struggle, to repeat them myself, even using the function button with limited guidance built in. Is this just something that comes easy with practice? There are a plethora of resources on YouTube, can anyone recommend some good ones in this respect? Many thanks for any assistance?

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
Build your formulas from the inside out...
& I learned a lot from a guy on YouTube.com with the user name: ExcelIsFun
He has 100's of videos and is truly a good teacher...
Of course the more you practice, you do get better...
Also on this message board, try to figure out the answer for people, and if you can't, then wait to see what someone else tells them...
Have fun !!!

As well as the comments from Chrisdontm...
Have a look At the Datapig Technologies site for some great lessons
AND
here for Nested IF examples.

The more you play with Excel, the more you'll learn.....and will get better at it as well !!

Well, there probably isn't a whole lot out there because different functions have different rules, so nesting is dependent upon those rules.
Nesting is actually easier than you think, if you apply some simple logic to it.

For example, an IF statement, is structured like this:
=IF(a,b,c)
usually you would replace a, b, and c with values or conditions. But you can replace them with entire other formulas.
So couple this with the advice that Chrisdontm gave about building from the inside out, and it becomes a lot easier.
Just try to build it one piece at a time.
